One of my most used tools is a handheld thermometer. When I had the chance to test and review the Chefstemp FinalTouch X10 instant-read meat thermometer, I jumped at it right away.
Disclaimer: I received the ChefsTemp FinalTouch X10 Instant Read Meat Thermometer for free to review. All opinions are my own, and this post reflects my honest experience with the product.
A handheld thermometer is a tool that I use for 100% of my cooking, grilling, and smoking.
Chefstemp Final Touch X10 Features
Although I am, just like most of us, a backyard griller, I still like a fast-reading thermometer.
But there are more features I appreciate, and here is a list of the important ones on the FinalTouch X10.
- Range: -22 to 572 °F (-39 t0 300°C)
- Response Time: 1 second (depending on material)
- Units: °F and °C
- Weight: 0.27 Lbs (125 gr)
Besides those features, which I prefer to see in a handheld thermometer, the FinalTouch X10 has other features.
- Auto-rotating display
- Motion-activated screen
- Waterproof up to 3 feet (1 meter)
- Magnetic Back
It also offers a 270-degree rotation of the probe, and I found out that this is actually a feature I learned to appreciate.
Chefstemp Final Touch X10 Testing
One thing I always test with any Thermometer I review is the accuracy. Here are my test results.
Boiling Water Test.

As you can see in the image, the test result shows that the thermometer is spot on in boiling water
Cold Water Test
With cold water, I mean near freezing water.

It is hard to get water that is exactly 32. So, as you can see in the image, it came pretty close.
Response Time
The claim is that the X10 has a response time of 1 second. I tried to test that, but it is not easy to have an accurate way to do that for me.
In my testing, I found that it depends on ambient temperature and the temperature of the product you want to measure.
The higher the temperature difference, the “longer” it takes to get an accurate reading.
As an example, if you go from almost frozen to a hot item, it takes a little longer than going from a warm item to a hot item.
But overall, I found the ChefTemp final touch to work very fast
Chefstemp Final Touch X10 – My Experience
So after looking at these test results, my personal opinion is that this is a great handheld thermometer.
I used it in some of my cooks, and it has never let me down. I have fairly big hands and this thermometer gave me a good grip.
The large display is easy to read and turns automatically so it can be read from almost every angle
I will keep using it and will update this Chefstemp Final Touch X10 review with things such as the battery life and anything else I can find.
I have written more digital handheld thermometer reviews so you can make a comparison and find the one you need.
