Grill surface of the Presto 07061

Fore every grill indoor or outdoor it is important to know how big or small the grill surface is. Too big is wasting space and too small is not giving enough room to cook all your food.

The grill surface is 21.75 x 11.5 inches and that makes it a total of 253 square inches.

The Presto 07061 griddle is 22 inches long and this makes it about 25% larger than most standard indoor griddles about as large as the Presto 07046 griddle we reviewed material of the grate

According to the company the surface has PTFE and PFOA in it, Nothing to worry about if you use plastic or wooden spatulas.
The grill is made of heavy-duty casted aluminum and as I mentioned coated with what Presto calls a premium nonstick coating.
The nice part is that the grill surface can be submerged in water and I read people who placed it in the dishwasher for easy cleaning. The grill surface is not 100% smooth but got some very small ridges. The reason for that is that if you use the grill the fat must be able to drip into the drip tray

Customer Reviews for the Presto 22 inch 07061 Griddle

Prest griddle 07061 customer ratings

“I had a griddle for ages that worked very well but over years of use the plastic must have become brittle because when I was putting it away after washing it one of the legs and handle broke right off in my hand. So off I went to see what was available now.
I decided to give Presto brand a try and loved the idea of being able to take off the legs for easy storage. What a great idea but as we know ideas don’t always turn out to work well once you give them try.
Well, I’ve got to say that this is working out great for me. The legs come off easily and reattach without a problem. I can take off 1 or both for storage in a cabinet. The griddle itself is large enough to cook pancakes for all and the texture makes oil drainage from cooking bacon easy. It heats great and there doesn’t seem to be hot spots like he griddle it replaced.
Clean up is a breeze without the legs attached. It fits half way into the sink so I can wash one half and then flip it and wash the other. There’s no worries about hitting the legs on the sink and breaking them off.
So overall I’d say I’m pretty happy with how this turned out. Switching brands is a little frightening but Presto has worked out great so far….”

“I’ve owned this for 8 months. My family uses it 4-5 times a week for warming tortillas, making pancakes, scrambled eggs and on occasion bacon. The sufrace has not lost any of its non stickiness and works as well as day one of buying it. The removable handles are amazing. You get the biggest cooking surface while allowing it to still fit in the cupboard when disassembled. I bought this on the recomendation of my brother who had his for several years and still loved it. So glad we got it! There are a few area that dont heat as well but i leave the food on an extra 30 seconds and we are good to go. It doesn’t affect the functionality of the griddle….(read more: Find more information here)”

My opinion about the Presto 07061 electric griddle

when I started to look at what others thought about this Presto electric griddle I ran into many reviews and on one site alone I found over 1400 reviews. This means in my opinion that this 070601 from Presto has been bought by thousands of people. If I combine this with an average of 4.6 stars out of 5 it seems to me there is not too much wrong with this presto 22-inch electric griddle 07061 model.

Let’s have a look at some things that we found several times in all the opinions people shared about this product and that might help you find out if this is the griddle you are looking for.

The cord is 30″ long and like always it depends on how many outlets you have in your kitchen if this is sufficient or a little short. This is about the length that most manufacturers use for their indoor electric appliances.

The removable handles come off pretty easily and make it possible to store the griddle in a standard kitchen cabinet. It also allows you to submerge the whole grill in the sink after you remove the temperature controller of course.

The drip edge is all around the grill surface except on the front for the drip pan. In combination with the fact that the grill is slightly tilted it will make the grease drip into the drip pan very smooth.

Warping of the grill surface is something I read a few times and although it was minor the Presto customer service wrote to contact them to help find a solution.
It was something I found in just a few reviews and only one time the user was upset about it, but he also mentioned his OCD.

With 1500 watts of heating power I read no complaints about the griddle not getting hot enough. The temperature controller can be set from low, and I understand that this is kind of a setting to keep things warm, to 200 degrees and all the way to 400 degrees. This is hot enough to cook a steak as many users mentioned.
The Amps that this big griddle pulls are 12.5 amps. This means that you should not plug it in with any other device at the same time.

Heating up takes about 5 to 8 minutes depending on how high you set it naturally. Since the heating element is at the edge, I recommend letting it cycle off and on a few times to make sure the total surface is hot.
The removable legs are about 1 inch tall and it raises the grill surface to a total height of 2.5 inches.

Cleaning seems to be a breeze for this Presto electric griddler. I have not read any complaints about that. Easy wipe down with a paper towel and then in the sink or dishwasher. The used dishwasher chemicals in combination with the water pressure might damage the non-stick surface and leave a little residue on the surface.

There are no real rubber nonslip feet under the legs, but it works well on about any surface and does not slip and slide all over the place as some other griddles do.

There is a number you can call for parts and call for any questions you have. Presto Customer Service Department M-F 8-4:15 CT by phone at 1-800-877-0441.

Overall I would like to recommend this Presto 22-inch electric griddle model number 07061 as a good bang for your bucks. The price is very reasonable compared to the quality and this griddle can last for many years if you give a little TLC. Tender, love, and care.

Flexible di Oro silicone spatula

Just like for any other non-stick surface I recommend plastic or wooden spatulas and no metal to prevent damaging the surface.
I found two sets that came with great reviews from many buyers that I can highly recommend.
This silicone spatula is from the di Oro series and is heat resistant up to 600 degrees and this is far higher than the maximum temperature of the Presto 07061.
With almost 200 ratings and an average of 4.4 this one, we can recommend it.
Although the price might be a little high the quality is also high.
