I think that the Char-Broil company made a good choice by making this Char-Broil Tru infrared big easy smoker, roaster, and grill. The fact that you can use the same products for 3 kinds of cooking is in my opinion great.

Although some people say it is not possible to have one product for all this kind of cooking I do not agree with this after reading all the comments and thoughts on many sites and forums.
This Char Broil 3 in 1 grill, roaster, and smoker performs pretty well in all 3 of the options.
The use of material might be a little questionable according to some users, but I like the option that you can buy all spare parts and that is an option that most grill manufacturers do not offer. Feel free to leave us a comment or remark about this in our opinion nice grill, roaster, and smoker.

“I bought the Big Easy, assembled it in less than an hour (directions were easy and straightforward, and it went together fine). I seasoned it. And then I tried a 7.5 lb chicken in it, just to get a sense of what it could do. Wow!! We figured it would take 10-15 minutes per pound to cook. So I put it in and checked it an hour later. The chicken was done – actually past-done – as the coldest part of the chicken was already 173 degrees. It took only 7-8 minutes per pound. Darn! But wait, it looked great!! And I used some mesquite wood chips in the smoker, and you could smell it! The result: this chicken was the moistest, tastiest, most wonderful chicken I have had in a very long time!! It was awesome!! Subtle, but not overpowering smoke. Flavorful throughout. Skin was crispy and wonderful. Even over-done, it was great!…”
“Added after over 2 years use:
This has stood up very well to weather and still works flawlessly. (It is kept outside, but always covered.) The optional rib hooks work very well. I can cook 4 short racks of ribs at a time. Great flavor and no burning. The BBQ sauce added near the end of the cook time caramelizes very evenly. They accidentally sent me a rack for chicken legs, so I tried it, and it makes great legs in quantity. Still love this thing.

Easy to assemble and to use. The low setting is 9000 BTU.
Temp can be set between 325 and 450 with the gas control knob.
Can use wood chips or pellets in the smoker
The grease pan is easy to remove and clean
Several options to be used as a grill, smoker, or roaster.
Many accessories are available to make it easier
No thermometer at the top.
Hard to see If the unit is lit or not. No peak hole.
The lower setting of smoking is still pretty hot.
The smoker box seems to give some problems installing.

Summary of what I think about the grill
4.5 stars always make me look at the ones that give only one star and wonder why.
What I found is that one mentioned that some parts were missing.
Another one mentioned that after 16 months the inside was totally rusted.
The third one I want to share was talking about the igniter not working and rambling on about that throughout his whole review.
Seems that it is very important to follow the instructions in the manual. As an example, I can mention the fact that a user did not remove the basket and racks before using it as a grill and they rusted pretty fast.
The comment of another person was that he always removed the basket and other racks and had no problem with rust at all.
I always wonder what the other circumstances are when I read so many great things about a grill and then a few really bad comments. Where is it stored and how? Do they use a cover? How many times is it used? I think all these things can make a big difference.
I think this Char Broil big easy smoker roaster and grill is worth the money.
Just make sure to maintain it like any other thing you buy.
For smoking at a low temperature of around 225, I think is not too successful.
The low setting is still too high for this.
Like any other product, some mentioned the poor quality of the parts and I think this is true for many products. The time that something lasted a lifetime is behind us.
Char broil, however, offers spare parts for all their products.
Register your grill with char broil with the warranty card or on charbroil.com. That makes it so much easier in case of a dispute or complaint in the warranty period.

Tips from real users
Generously oil the interior of the roaster chamber, light the unit, set it as directed, and when it stops smoking, shut it down and let it cool completely. Wash it by hand and dry it. Repeat, but add in the roaster basket also oiled, and the basket shelving. Again, when it stops smoking, shut it down, let it cool, wash and dry.
