As I continue my reviews of the best portable pellet grills, it’s clear that the pellet grill/smoker landscape is getting competitive. What was once Traeger’s domain is now a very competitive space. One of the latest entrants to this pellet grill market is the ASMOKE AS300 portable pellet grill.
I have used the portable grill recently, and as I have done with the previous grills, here is my Asmoke portable 300-pellet grill review.
Grilling Space and Hopper Capacity
The Asmoke 300 pellet grill offers quite a bit of functionality for such a portable grill when it comes to cooking space. The grill features two tiers of porcelain-coated iron cooking grids providing 256 square inches of total cooking area. The cooking space may seem small, but that’s not too bad for a portable smoker. The grill’s total cooking area is adequate for 8 burgers, 4 baby back rib racks, 12 hot dogs, 1 rib rack, and half of a brisket.
The Asmoke wood pellet grill features a 4lbs hopper capacity. While this does not sound like a lot, the grill delivers less pellet consumption which is efficient for a portable grill of its size.
Asmoke 8-in-1 pellet smoker grill
If you are looking for a portable grill for creating great flavors on the go, the Asmoke wood pellet grill is the real deal. The grill’s construction allows both direct or indirect grilling, and it’s ideal for cooking barbeque, baking, roasting, braising, smoking, searing, broiling, and cooking char-grilled food.
The Temperature Range
The Asmoke 300 pellet grill features a temperature range of 180F-500F. The temperature range allows you to go low and slow or fast and hot while achieving mouthwatering flavors. The AS300 can get to over 500F in just 20 minutes, which is an impressive feature to have in a portable grill of its size.
Besides, the AS300 includes the flame broiler plate that you can open to allow searing high heat for steaks or close for indirect lower temperature cooking for veggies.
Controls and Accessories
The grill features a standard meat probe so you can monitor the food temperatures easily. It also features the standard temperature control feature with various low-temperature settings. However, there is no mention of the PID controller, and therefore the perfect temperature control might be a challenge.
The pellet grill features auto-pellet reloading and comes with a heating fan so that you can maintain the desired temperature.
Consistent Smoker Grill Heating
The grill features a patented small grill air duct system for heat distribution. Therefore, the AS300 portable ensures an even heat distribution over the entire cooking surface for perfect consistency. The patented heat distribution technology allows the grill to reach up to 500F in under 20 minutes, and it is safer than other wood pellet grills present.
Videos can explain things soo much better than I can so let’s have a look at this one.
